I forgot to ask, did you do the flatfields there at the time? you use a white sheet over the lens I think you said before? The flatfielding looks very accurate, no sign of uneven ness at all

Beautiful widefield and so well presented. This is the enjoyment we get from imaging, to get an image that does the original object some sort of justice as a realistic representation. I am slowly finding out that the more we do this the better we all become. It does take a while to get the most out of the equipment we have.
Obviously a good dark sky site is the first step to produce such a nice image, the rest is patience and skill.

Again a very good image of a difficult target.

Scott,

Now, that's a compliment and-a-half!

Thank you.

Scott,

I most certainly did. I took flats at the end of the night. I used my laptop's screen set to white, placed the camera on the keypad and shot 15 or so flats.

Humayun

Bert,

Thank you for the kind words.

You're right, the more we do it, the better we get.

I'm still restricted to doing widefields, I am not sure if my equipment is conducive for deep space imaging without an autoguided setup. Don't have the money for that at the moment.

Regards,
Humayun

Thanks Humayun, thats an excellent way of taking flats The screen is perfectly evenly lit, making an ideal flat field.

Scott,

The alternative would have been to either a) wait for sunrise (for sky flats), or b) take Andrew's 20Da and his 200mm F/2.8L home to take flats in my own time. I think both were out of the question.

Regards,
Humayun
