Please be as analytical as you like Roger. I love your constructive feedback and I thank you for it. I agree that there is a lot going on in the image and is perhaps a bit messy composition wise, but there was not much I could do about the lighting of that cliff face. I think a few people have misunderstood me when I say I lightpainted the cliff face to the left of the falls. I mean to the left of the falls from the cameras view point, not from the falls viewpoint. The only artificial lighting is in the narrow strip between the falls and the left of frame. Have attached an annotated version to illustrate this. The rest of the foreground illumination is from the nearly full moon lighting up the landscape. I did the subtle lightpainting on that part of the scene to try and match the natural moonlight, otherwise it would have just been black.
I do have plans to once again shoot this location, but on a moon free night. I will be just trying to artificially light up the falls and not much else.
