Excellent work there Dave
What time did u get back, and hwo was the weather there overall. I only got one nights imagine in for the week due to horrible weather. Obviously u got at least 3 clear nights in
How did the batteries go in the cold weather?

When I once pulled down my Sampson mount I replaced the grease in it with a mix of wheel bearing grease and Nulon Teflon Gearbox addidive. The little gearbox that the shyncronous motor drives, I flushed that out with degreaser, then filled it with a mix of wheelbearing grease, EP gear oil and the teflon additive. It should last well beyond my lifetime now

they worked alright considering it got down to 1 degree most nights, but then I cheated and went the 240 volt converter - no worries then. Drove back in a day, left at 6.40am Duckadang arrived 6.15pm newcastle. We had moments of terrible seeing with cloud, but most nights were clear, except Friday (late) and Saturday nights
H0ughy did NSW proud! After driving the 1000 km to Qld, car packed to the gunwales with equipment AND carrying Allan too, he was a man on a mission. I don’t think that any Qldr kept up with him. On his first night he showed me his M27 and M57 photos; imaged, processed and presented in real time – great stuff!
We were the last to retire at 2:00am when the last quarter Moon was too high. He then pulled a few all nighters and his dedication to drift alignment was something to behold. I have never, ever, seen so many gadgets in the possession of one man – one married man with kids that is!
H0ughy, you done well mate; it was great to meet you, in spite of your tricking of me, into conversing with Paul’s G-11, as a result of your mesmerizing and stunning green laser light show. Just loved your private bidet.

Yes I washed my feet before stepping into GOD's Country and in the wee hours of the mornings I did contemplate my navel , talked to a possum and conversed with Pauls mount (the most sense it ever made ). I missed heaps, and next year I will be even more prepared and know what I wish to achieve. Apart from M31, M27 and M57, everything else was bonus for me
