Looking good !!
Looks like we won't have to bring out the whips and chains to keep you moving this along ..

As I said, you will get a LOT more use out of your gear when this is operational. I've managed about 5 nights recently that at first glance at early evening and all the clouds I wouldn't have even bothered thinking about setting up. Cleared a bit later and I was up and imaging within 10 minutes.

Sweet !!

Thanks Rob,

Yep, cant wait to be imaging while sitting in the pool in the summer (or the spa down below) and having a beverage or three while watching the obs do its thing!

Oooooh whips and chains may get the missus more interested in the observatory Brent.....if you know what I mean....

I have been frustrated with the summer holiday break, only really 3-5 days of clear nights all up, and I sorta kinda imaged for maybe 1 and a half of these, but with crap results due to the set up and tear down issues and being buggered from sweating all day constructing the building. In the end I just didnt bother which made me cranky and the images I got were garbage so 5 weeks off with no imaging has meant I am keen to get this finished, sans bondage....

The end is in sight, just need to spend some more money, probably after pay day in Feb, or on the credit card, perhaps on the weekend if the missus is looking the other way.

Cheers

Chris

Some more progress pics, with the wall linings going up.

The roof outriggers, window to fit on the south side and then the back and south side to line with wood, some gable work and then will be weatherproof (once painted) and ready for commissioning.

Things are progressing, cant wait for it to be finished (ish) and get it running.

Thanks Marc, pretty shoddy most nights, hence why I bought some Narrowband filters to try and circumvent the sludge. It will be nice to be able to relax with a fully set up scope and warm room. Ahhhhh, the serenity

A bit of an update, the missus is getting royally sick of me working on this every weekend. All the walls are now on, starting to look like a cabin or perhaps even a sauna.... Just need to do the gabled infill front and back and some eave lining, runners for the roof etc etc etc. Lol 😁

Will it ever end?

Cheers

He he yes, I guess so and I can see Mt Stromlo Observatory in the distance, which is pretty cool, even though at times they have the only outside lights visible on my horizon ...but lately the idea of being able to have a cool dip while the scope is chugging away is very appealing ..ok, we'll call it a draw
