The weather is still crap, and the moon's out anyway, so I decided to dig up some old data on M27.
Below is the specs of the image from 22/5/12.
Telescope 8” f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
16 x 120 sec subs ISO 800,
11 dark frames, 11 flat frames and 11 bias.
Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.

I like the stars from the original image and the nebula from the second image.
Whatever personal preferences, it’s all together a solid M27.

Yep, had many different versions of M27, when the stars looked good the nebula didn't . One day I'll nail them both.

That looks better, at least in my eyes ..
In PixInsight there are a couple of more processes that may (or may not) address the issue of fine details: deconvultion with (soft) deringernig.
If you have a chance - try it ..
