Something Strange in Predawn Time Lapse

G'day

I was having a go at taking a time lapse this morning and noticed this green stuff to the left of the frame, any ideas of it could be? Also what about the green bars above it?

The picture was taken facing east and the glow on the right behind the trees is light pollution from Toowoomba 80km away.

The camera was a Panasonic GX1 with 14 f2.5 lens, 20sec ISO 1600 exposures.

The green glow was present from when I started imaging around 4:20 until dawn, and the bars appear around 5:05, they do not move from frame to frame but vary in brightness.

Anyway it has got me really intrigued as to what it could be, so if you have any ideas that would be awesome

BTW. the time lapse worked out well.

Here is a unprocessed frame.

I would hazard a guess that the ground glow is a brightly lit oval or other sporting venue and the bars are the reflection of the lights in the clouds of ice particles. The green colour may be a function of the temperature of the lights.

Thanks for the suggestion Al, but as far as I know the closest sports oval would be in Toowoomba, we live in a fairly rural farming district.

I have been thinking, there is an army air base in that direction about 50km away, maybe they were doing something?

Thats interesting, yes it was Oakey I was talking about. I wonder what they are doing? Anyway it looks cool on the time lapse, I can tell people that its an aurora or laser beams from out of space.
