Milky Way Foggy Freeway

Fog fills the valley as the Milky Way sets in the West.

Taken on Saturday morning on the old Pacific Hwy bridge over the F3 Freeway at Somersby on the Central Coast of NSW.

After this shot, I drove for an hour North West out to Bucketty to dark skies, only to find myself completely blanketed in fog, unable to see the sky or the ground in front of me! Argh!

30s exposure, Canon 6D, 14mm f/2.8, ISO5000.

Thanks for looking.

A fine photo. I like the way you turned a bad situation into something good.

Nice Work Mike, is the white balance a little warm?

The car headlights on the rd really draw you into the fog

You sure have a knack for picking the moment. A possible submission for next years Malin Awards maybe.

Thanks, it was nice to have this on the camera after not being able to get a shot the rest of the night!

Thanks Colin. I was actually hoping to get a shot of the Milky Way over the entrance of the Australian Reptile Park, but a gate blocked my way so I couldn't do that. Drove a little further down the road instead and got this.

Thanks Matt. I think it needs a re-process at some stage.

Thanks Hans. Not sure about that given the quality and talent around the place but thanks for the support.
