Thanks for the good wishes. Not a problem this was always a problem waiting as I was involved in two refits on the old HMAS Melbourne, the removal of asbestos has already got a few heads including our former state governor.

I will be at the SPSP on Saturday (for the roast) and spend the night in the house next to the fire.

I am interested in how much I can sue the navy for (greed, Greed, GREED). Trevor hopes I can get enough to buy him some super duper astronomy gear! Nice of him isn't it?

Barry I am sorry to hear this news. I have never met you but have spoken to you several times on the phone. Aside from being very knowledgeable and very helpful you have always sounded a very happy person.

Live each day like it was your last Barry, times like these emotions and self esteem are all over the place often with little to look forward to, be yourself and do as you please.

From experience the best advice I can offer is to do all you can to not feel any pain, seek paliative care and be sure to let them know when you feel like the prescribed pain killers are insufficent, they can and will change it, but often you need to nag them about it.

Thanks for your thoughts and wishes. The nail is not in the coffin yet, Barry hasn't told me he is in any pain either yet. He has only been getting tired and breathless.

While at the moment it might be unbeatable, I think there is a few more years in him. I would sell all my (his) astro gear for an extra year

I told him my kids are too young to deal with no Grandpa, so he has to kick on.

I agree with Trevor - grand kids NEED their grand dad, so you got no choice, mate, but to keep on!
