Jupiter problem

Hey all, for quite some time i have been having problems with getting a clear image of jupiter. i have tried pretty much all the different exposures, presets, scene modes and ISO setting for Jupiter and just keep getting images like the one attached.
How do i get a nice clean image of Jupiter????

Certainly looks a bit over-exposed to me. The fact that it seems you've captured some moons in the same shot would tend suggest the same thing.

What equipment are you using for your shots? A bit more information might help with diagnosis. I'm still very much a beginner myself but there are a lot of experienced people on here who could probably comment if you provide a bit more detail.

I use a canon IXUS 105 attached to a 20mm eyepiece.

It is also out of focus - see the moons, they are not dot-like.
This is probably because autofocus of the camera is not active.. or it can not reach focus because of eyepiece not correctly focused.
Try first with your eye (make sure it is relaxed as you are looking at very far away) .. then the camera should be able to autofocus on Jupiter.

If this is how you obtained the above image, then try to disable autofocus on the camera, and use live view (with magnification) to focus with eyepiece focuser.
