Betsy the Cow at Night

A cow and its calf scared us when they came crunching by after it got dark. We couldn't see them - they were just out of range of our vision, but when I shone my headlamp in their direction I could see the reflection off their eyes.

So I took this 30s exposure while shining the headlamp at them. I'm glad they stood still

The sky above includes the Pleiades star cluster, Jupiter, and the Orion constellation.

Nice shot Mike I had a similar experience with some horses once. Scared the proverbial out of me when they all came charging up to the fence out of the dark. Unfortunately they wouldn't stay still for the 30 seconds or so I needed to get them.

Nice shot Mike. Being in a field with long grass on a warm night can be a bit nervous at times.

I've been swooped by a fast moving bat which was unnerving. I like to have my dogs nearby to keep away undesirables.

Greg.
