I will add M42 for the record as well, 100 second shot and a 10 second shot iso 800

Thanks Houghy.... Just glad we ended up with a happy settlement!... Last thing I want or need is unhappy dealings in this small Astro world!!
To answer your PM re. filters... I am currently using an Astronomik IR cut filter. http://www.astronomik.com/english/eng_ir.html Works very well. You can also get UV/IR cut filters (Band Pass is visible light) but I'm not sure the UV cut is required... Would be keen to do a compare one day.
Looking forward to seeing some of "your" efforts with the 300D Houghy!

Mr Alders F5.6 10" Newt. like most things that night I supplied the camera, he supplied the scope and bucketfulls of enthusiasm!!

Yes its not every day a mate rocks up with a modded camera then tells me its mine for a few days
And when he came over that night he didnt even bother knocking on the door, he knew Id be at the scope guiding away with said camera on, he was right too
The moon was up at first, but I grabbed about 2 hours sleep later then got up at 2:30 am for some moonless imaging.
