"Aurora Australis" 15th July 2012.

Hello Everyone.

After a X 1.4 class Solar flare was released due to a CME on the 13th of July the "Aurora Australis" was present tonight.

Once the clouds and rain cleared up I managed to snap this image from my backyard.

nice one.. that's quite a display!

i think alex especially feels like he was too far north this weekend, although you needed and got a lucky break in the weather to see anything!

Yes I was thinking of Alex as I took the image. I reckon he knew what he was missing out on too!
Typical though! He was away receiving his award and the night sky is alight with the southern lights.
Congrats on the award by the way Phil..nice going.
Hope to see you at the LMDSS soon, maybe this weekend with Steve.
Regards Paul.
