Snake Valley - by the skin of my teeth

So, imagine the scene - romantic dinner last night at our favourite Balinese restaurant.

Me telling my wife (of slightly less than a year) how excited I was to be going to Snake Valley in March.

Oh, she says, what dates

23 till 27 I say

Do you recall any significant event happening in amongst those dates.

No, I say, as my mind recalls that we got married last year on March 26.

I told you about it, I say

Do you really think we'd be having this conversation now if you'd already told me, she says.

Ship appeared to be sunk at that moment. No escape from the reporachful and hurt looks. I offered her she could come too and then had to admit I didn't actually mean that.

Gina had booked the honeymoon suite we spent our first night in for the Sat 24th night and paid the deposit.

I tried to explain astro camp happens in a date free environment. I got "tsks" and eye rolling. Thank goodness we were in public.

Anyway, bless her sweet sweet heart - she changed it this morning to the following weekend.

All is right with the cosmos again!

phew (and to think I'm bringing a new/secondhand camera to be modded. I got that delivered to work so she need never see it!)

Your a brave man! I wouldn't dare pull that off and I have been married for 19 years.

I reckon you owe her big time..lets hope the weekend has clear skies.

Regards Paul.

Only a year, and already you're an old married man with all the trimmings

Niko,

Seriously now, call Snake Valley off, and go next year, c'mon. Think of what message you are sending.

Cheers

I went to SV camp on Cheryl's Birthday last year and that didn't go over well.
Yours is a Wedding Anniversary! I can imagine how your wife feels!

You are a game man Nick.

Niko it looks like you have a lot to learn
First of all set all your SV dates for years to come so you never get caught out
Second of all get that camera modded BEFORE the SV camp so you can actually use it
And last but not least, you better make up for what you have done or else you will hear it for years to come

Astro camps are just time off for good behavior. I got married on 8th March 1980 and have since spent nearly every aniversary fishing, usually without her although this year we are going away to Port Lincoln together.
I must be getting old and slow.

Very supportive partner there niko, maybe you should thank her with a nice astronomy book (just make sure you remove the price sticker first ).
My 10 year wedding anniversary is on march 30, so I just managed also.

SV Saturday falls on my birthday this year, so the feast will also be a birthday party (sort of!). Unknown to me my beloved had planned an evening in Colacs best restaurant ( if you are ever in Colac it is "Fusion" which is excellent) but we are now going the following week.
Luckily her birthday and all significant dates are well away from the SV camps!

Niko after realising it's your first aniversary all I can say is you either got the pick of the bunch and or are a very lucky man.
One thing you should think about though. Just buy her a house now.

Niko,

It's time the husbands here explained about Brownie Points. BTs have an EXTREMELY short half-life and can be unusually difficult to earn. I think your BT balance is currently approximately -1,000,000

Niko,

Turning the other cheek is obviously one of Gina's special qualities, She knows how important your happiness is. It won't last! But take all the good will you can get!

Plus, remember where you put your compass this time!
