M42 - tsa 120

Hesitating to post yet another M42, but this is my first attempt with a CCD camera, and a big step up from my DSLR image from a few years back. Fairly limited number of 5 min subs due to clouds moving in. I managed a lot more 30 sec subs for the core. Looking closely at some of the bright stars in the full size image, I see there's a very slight misalignment of red channel.

Takashi TSA-120 with reducer, FLI Microline 8300.

Apart from the registration error you have identified (be worth fixing) it looks great, you have handled the core blending nicely and there is some nice detail present - a good M42

Louie, the camera's great with quick download and good cooling. I've actually had it for some time but not made nearly enough use of it. A combination of work and bad weather. Trying to remedy that now. I recently went through your processing tutorials. Very helpful, thanks - especially the noise reduction technique with the inverted layer mask.

Hi Graeme

Ah yeah I'm very impressed with the ML as well, and yes the cooling is fantastic....being able to sit at -35 all year round is a great asset....who cares about worm nights.

Ref the tuts....your very welcome and I'm glad your enjoying them.
