Ba'ader Moon Skyglow filter - any good?

Hi all,
I'm considering investing in a Ba'ader 2" moon/skyglow filter for our 12'' goto Dob.
Q: Are these filters any good?(eg: value for money) as they seem significantly more expensive than the cheaper orion/meade Moon filter versions?

Hey mate;

I recently bought these from Astro Shop and have been very happy with them; not top of line but the don't seem to be rubbish either:

Hi

THe Baader Moon & Skyglow filter is not a lunar filter per se' , it is an light pollution filter designed to reduce skyglow caused by light pollution from street lighting or most other stray lighting as well as from bright moonshine. By reducing the glare it therefore increases contrast for DSOs', the filter wont perform miracles but it will make dim objects a little easier to see from light polluted locations. Hope that attempt at an explanation helps.

Thanks very much for the replies Jeff and Ray. Wish I'd waited a couple of more days - I've jumped in and bought a Ba'ader while I was waiting. When its delivered I'll give you a report. I have a very "light polluted" backyard because there's street light just over the fence. so it'll be interesting to see what the effect is.
Cheers

You don't need to worry about the Baader - they work a treat and I've often used mine like a "moon-filter" at times on my 12" dob -they work and you'll notice that the surrounding regions gets darkened to an extent!

Thanks Bill, for the reassurance.
I'm still waiting for the post to arrive, and unfortunately as happens with all new gear, the skies forecast doesn't look clear for the next few days (not promising for the lunar eclipse)
Cheers
