NGC 5189 Spiral planetary

Hi all, this is a repro from last years data, the first is the latest and the second is the best from last year. Managed to bring out more of the faint nebula and the background to me looks better.

Hope to try this one again soon when the cloud breaks. This planetary is in the constellation of Musca, has a diameter of 2.5' and magnitude=10.3 . It is a reasonble sized object of this type.

Here is another repro of this data, still trying to hit the sweet spot.

I think this is going to be a hard one to get right, Lester.

You've just got to watch your histogram Lester. You're clipping both ends. Other than that it's a terrific shot.

Thanks Carl and Marc for your comments.

Here I have adjusted the levels. Marc you are not the first to point this out to me, I do have the histogram present at all times in Photoshop and by that the histogram isn't against the left or right sides. What am I missing?

The last repro's much better. Sometime you have to check your histogram per channel. You might be clipping the blues or the red, etc... but the lum histogram looks ok.

Thanks Marc, I have never checked the individual colours for clipping, only the RGB. I will do this in future.
