If I were you, I would go for a 9mm Nagler T1, or a Meade 8.8mm 4000 UWA or even a Pentax 10mm XW and use a barlow on it. Obviously, the 10mm XW has much better eye relief and is more expensive, but you'll have the luxury of comfortable viewing.
I find that eyepieces with short eye relief make for a night in frustration, especially when your eyeball gets too close to that cold lens
