Due to agreements with local distributors the are not allow to export Celetron equipment. That said there are a number of brokers that can buy and ship on your behalf, but realise any warranty needs to be sent back to the US.

Hi Mark,

I have purchased some smaller items from OPT in the past and they are excellent to deal with. I also purchased some more expensive items from them which they agreed to take to the 2007 Texas Star Party and deliver personally, as they had a vendor stll there and I was attending. Exceptional service.

My only concern would be wanting to have local warranty support on something as large and expensive to ship as a C14.

Cheers,
John B

Yep they ship everything but Celestron and Meade telescopes. However, I did read they will ship Celestron and Meade scopes if they are used/open box items, I'm sure i read that somewhere on their site.

I'm sure that they have a slightly soiled display unit that does not come under the ''new'' classification as per usual?

Why don't you email them and ask to see what they have?

Going to your thread title, if OPT have it in stock then you can expect delivery often inside a week. Quite amazing really. If they don't have it in stock it could take months if ever.

Hi Paul,

I did read a thread somewhere on another forum that they do.

The thread was started by a school teacher on another forum who apparently purchased a large scope from them and had it shipped to OZ. When the scope arrived it did not work properly and looked as if it was second hand. A a tug-o-war went on for many months until it was finally over a year later, U.S. courts ruled in favor of the Australian School Teacher.

I don't know if this story is true or not, or how accurate the claims of the School Teacher was but...always when ordering large scopes from overseas you take a big risk, and you should be prepared with insurance etc...It might be a good idea to check the internet for complaints in regards to this company before ordering. It's possible that any other negatives out there (if any others) might have some validity, better to be safe than sorry I say.

Regards...

On a different note, have you asked Andrews if they could give you a quote on what you need?

I have yet to see an open box/used C9.25, C11, or C14 or similar size Meade on Opt. If they ever have any they must go really fast.
