It's at 4:50 pm EST from Kennedy Space Centre. I think that will be 8:50am Sydney time so long as Kennedy is in the same time zone as New York.

On the Shuttle page of the NASA web site they have a countdown clock to the launch. Easiest way to work out the launch time! Also easiest way to see if there is a delay.

Waiting anxiously...
Though I'll be very sad to see Discovery lift off for the last time.

Cheers.

What are the yanks going to do after the last shuttle launch? They probnably won't be able to afford to do much else after they have been retired.

For a high definition live feed: www.spacevidcast.com

NASA TV's telecast is typically delayed by 2 minutes.

A sample of SpaceVidCast's magic can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtrB9bELGSY

Fast forward to 1:45, full screen, audio on max, and... enjoy.

I'm glad it's them and not me. I wouldn't want to ride on THAT fuel tank.
