Hello.

My name is Alex.

And I have a coffee problem.

It started when I started working for myself, at the back of my parents place, where their shop had an commercial espresso machine. 12 espressos a day was the norm for me after two months, !

Sure I could sleep (believe it or not), but the ROAR in my head was almost deafening!

Number of years ago was having digestive and headache problems, gave up coffee, tea ( yes, there is caffeine in there too ) and coke. Two weeks of serious withdrawal symptoms, pains and headaches and you name it. It was instant coffee then as well.

Now I have maybe a coffee (real) a day, a tea or two and hot chocolate in the afternoon for an energy boost. Wine is reserved for evenings, ...mostly.

Just have to be careful, too much of anything is not good for you I found out.

Just spent some time with friends in Tassie and sorely missed my daily coffee as they are tea drinkers.
Back home, first job in the morning is to brew the coffee. During the day, I make do with Diet Coke - until the weather cools down and then it's freshly brewed coffee.

Must have been desperate today and bought a coffee at Bunnings. Says its 'Italian Coffee' - quite nice.

Also love a good coffee, but not a real connoisseur - usually get a large flat white. Tried a couple of expressos over seas, which I liked, but they were gone in 1-2 minutes.

Have a little coffee machine, but too lazy to use it.

Think I will rock up at Erics to try his coffee.

I like coke but I find the dust covers all my eyepieces - joke!

Coffee, clear skies - during the day cos I like the sun - and clear nights when I am free (not often lately).

Jelly beans too!

Excellent, thanks for the link Eric.

We had to replace the old worn out Saeco, so after trying a few, bought a Nespresso machine on the weekend. The coffee is very reasonable, and it is much easier and cleaner than a normal machine with a group head.

I'll still enjoy a 'real' coffee when out and about, but at home, this thing should be just fine.

Cheers,
Jason.

Got nasty headaches if don't have my 3 cups a day. Used to drink a lot of coke as younger man, but rarely do now as it's too sweet. The only thing I like coke for now is putting in my scotch.

At one of our observing nights, we heard a very strange noise, and wondered what the heck it was. All looking round .... one of the guys who came along was grinding his beans for a coffee.

Got the machine just in time for my annual coffee abstinence! For about three weeks in March, I go off coffee (and make some other dietary adjustments as well). I start the wind-down this coming weekend. Used to go "cold turkey" and that is like "Ouch" - guaranteeing a day or two on my back with a shocking head. So an "easy does it" reduction over several days and all is fine. Weak tea for hot drink through this period. Don't worry, I'll be back full of caffeine in late March.

Did he have his Espresso machine too.
The scream from the steam wand can be alarming as well.....
