Hi all

There must be something wrong with the pic's as I have only taken a handful of this type of image and need experience with processing so please tell me how I can improve my technique.

Not that I'm an expert like H in terrestrial shots but they look nice and crisp to me.

Cheers Daniel.

Thanks Daniel

I do like the way they have turned out. I am hoping that someone like H can give me some tough critque and help me improve. As there is always room for improvement and if you don't crash and burn a few times you can't get better.

Warren,

My first piece of advice would be to shoot either early morning or late afternoon. By this, I mean, within 15 minutes of the sun having risen, and, thirty minutes either side of the sun setting.

Light, light, light. The quality of light makes or breaks landscape images.

H

Any other pearls are welcome I have noticed variablility in the ability to get down to f 2.8 when I do the speed goes red which I think must mean that it is not viable?

To me they both look a bit dark but its hard to comment without lens & camera information. The backgorund in pic 2 is a tad bright and if the camera was set to measure the exposure over the whole image may result in under exposed subject. Nice plant and flowers.

Not bad for a compact digital camera Warren and am not sure if you used a macro setting. Certainly its a very fast shutter speed. The first image cold probably be improved by cropping out some of the background but the colour is nice.
