I have 6 letters for that...

W T F , L O L .

Yea, I agree, photography is pretty awesome, but getting a current model DSLR tattooed on you? yeah, that won't look silly in 3 years time at all.. The upside is that it doesn't look very real to me... Hopefully for that guy its just a hoax and he's able to wash it off...

Having said that, Im getting galaxies and perhaps a telescope incorporated into back piece.. So I suppose crazy is a gene that is commonplace in society..

Well, I use a Mark IIn, and whilst the 1D Mark IV will keep me with Canon, the ONLY reason is because I'll lose so much in doing a move to Nikon, in terms of dollar value. If it wasn't for that, I'd be leaving Canon faster than an atom leaves a Supernova.

Dave, I switched from nikon to canon for my primary camera a few years back, I still have my D200, the 70-200 F/2.8 VR ED IF and the 12-24 nikon lenses, But after buying and using the 1Ds mk3 with the L glass I have, I would safely say I'd not move back to nikon for my primary camera again... The difference in lens performance is enough to keep me standing under the Canon tent for years to come... The ONLY time that a nikon lens beats a canon lens (that I've tested) is the 70-200 2.8... The nikkor glass is faster, sharper and generally reproduces colour better (which could have something to do with the camera at the rear of it too).. all the others I've tested (nikkor 300/2.8 vs 300/2.8L, 50/1.4's 12-22 vs canons 10-20 etc..) the canon glass just comes out shining..

After having said that, would I get a tattoo of a 1Ds Mk3 on my forearm (even if I had room on my forearm to do that) Not in a million years...

Don't even get me started on my 70-200 Canon - can't focus to save its life and has been doing odd things for a while now. Sadly, needs a trip back to Canon home for repairs/adjustments (backfocus with the mark IIn I'd say). I personally doubt that the average person would see any difference between the EF/Nikkor lenses to be honest, let alone @ 100%.

I have my problems with Canon (long standing) as a company, and their only grace is the fact that I'd lose a fair bit of money by switching to Nikon.

BTW, I went to Currumbin wildlife sanctuary yesterday and there was a sea of Nikons. The only other Canon I saw was used by one of the CWS staff. The rest were Nikon DSLRs, one Sony. That's about 20 to one ;-) (yes, it was that marked a difference in numbers). Shots from my mates D90 were far better than my Mark IIn focus wise (on the raptors). And that said, he was using the cheap 55-200 Nikon kit lens, not reknowned for having snappy focus. I was not impressed to say the least.

If I were that way inclined, which than the Lord I’m not, I’d get a Takahashi Mewlon tattooed on one arm with an AP1200 on the other; now they’d be worthy tattoos! I’d probably reserve my chest for a top end CCD camera from SBIG.

Cheers

I was considering on my lower back getting a truss RC or DK on an AP1200 with a CCD in the back of it pointing up towards my shoulders with NGC1365 in between my shoulder blades with thorns and prickle bushes between the sky and the scope, with the latin quote "Per Aspera Ad Astra" written in there somewhere.... would make a nice full back piece I think.

I'll eventually get a dark mark (death eater) tattoo (I think it's rather cool lol).
