IIS Clock/Time seems 1 hour ahead of itself?!?

I've just put up a thread and noticed that the posting time given by IIS is 1 hour ahead of my system time down here in Victoria?
My PC's system time appears correct, my watch is spot on, so I don't think it's me?

Hi Chris

Check your forum profile settings - make sure you're set to GMT+10 and check your DST settings too.

It's showing correct for me.

Thanks Mike,

I had to turn DST settings to always off to get the correct time displayed.
It would seem the Auto detect was not doing what I thought it would do!
I guess I will have to check what happens on October 4th!

Then I'd guess you have the DST config that was set up for the Sydney Olympics. DST that year started in August.

Get tzedit.exe from M$ and you can fix it to be right for 2009. I have a copy if you can't find it. There might be an update for all the TZ settings somewhere at M$.

If only M$ used the Olsen timezone database.

Sydney Olympics? Olsen timezone database? What have they got to do with IIS Profiles?

As I said, I've changed the DST settings in my IIS profile and the times are now displayed correctly, end of story.

I think he's suggesting that your Windows is trying to set your DST too early, but if your computer clock is showing correctly then I doubt that's the problem.

"Auto detect" uses your browser to calculate your time zone. So if it's wrong, it may be your browser that's the cause of the zone discrepancy. As a matter of interest, try another browser and see if there is any difference.
