My ES14mm just arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First impression, ITS HUGE!!!!!! People were not kidding when they said this thing is a mammoth of an eyepiece.

Hoping skies remain clear for it's first light, despite the moon been almost full

Either that eyepiece is bigger than Ben-Hur, or that hand belongs to a 6 month old child.

Also looking forward to your report.

All the best. Don't sprain your wrist.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to test it thoroughly tonight only had a look through it for a few minutes. Initial impressions..

1) As mentioned previously the eyepiece is big. However in my 10" LB and set of JMI counterweights, I had no problem what so ever with balancing the scope.

2) The eyepiece itself is of high build quality and had I not seen the "Made in China", could easily mistake it for Japanese build.

3) In my 10" LB at F5, stars were pinsharp to the edge. No noticeable image degradation on the edge.

4) Both the moon and jupiter looked stunning. Very crisp right to the edge.

5) The eyepiece was very comfortable to look through (I don't wear glasses though) and found I could take in the entire 100deg fov easily.

No DSO as I was viewing from my light polluted Sydney backyard. I will do a thorough test of it at our next viewing session during the new moon. Look forward to it then
