Recently aquired, although i wont get to use them, 25*100 binoculars. In outstanding condition, not a mark on them, full coated, with rubber armour, and with a built in heavy duty tripod mount.
comes with brand new lockable (2 keys) fitted case, and all eyecups and dustcaps etc. Thse are big, and heavy, postage will be around $35 - $40
Like mick, I'm trying to tell myself I dont need them. But they may just
settle my "What can you see with bino's" curiousity. Would be good
for large-ish objects and comets.
Firstly what is the weight of the bino's by themselves, my parra might
take them. My parra is a pretty solid beast.
The dimensions of the case, plus weight with binos inside. And what
brand are they? Also are the lens ruby colour, can you take a photo
of them?
If I can comment on my experience with this type, these generic 25 X 100 binos definately need a parallelogram mount IMHO .
When I bought mone they were used once and then sat there for 12 months until I aquired a mount. They balance well towards the front end making them , combined with the magnification, very difficult to handhold. Other than that they are great optically. Mine show granulation across Omega Centauri in a dark sky. They also need a Telrad or gunsight mounted on to find stuff.
I will sell mine when I can afford a set of 45 degree BT-100's. My limit for comfortable viewing with straight through's is about 50 degree altitude. Above that I get a real pain in the neck after a few seconds.
For anyone after a suitable parallelogram, mine is a Bintel and I believe that Bintel are selling them again.

I will have them if you can tell me they are well collimated and waterproof.

Hi Steve
The collimation looks ok to me, regarding waterproof, they are rubber coated, but i couldnt say as to wether they where fully waterproof or not.
If you mean, can they withstand humidity and rain etc, i shoudl think without problem, if you mean can they be used underwater, well i couldnt say. But if i knew they could, i would be asking alot more for them
I'm sure that the pair I have is the 30x100 version of these. I have had them in heavy dew and have not seen any internal condensation develop. For mine, the collimation is easily tweaked using the tilt screws which are accessible under the rubber coating.
