Hi Guys I have had a look around town today and really haven't come up with anything as yet, regarding replacing my dead Monitor, so I thought you may be able to help in my selection.
I have bought a number of computers and lappys form dell and have had a great run with all their products, so I thought I might look at their site and consider purchasing from them agai.
I quite like this one so would appreciate if you good people could assist and give your opinion if this would suit my purpose.
It is directly from the Dell site and is model number 2408WFP.

I've had a Dell 2408WFP for about 3 years and it is fantastic.
I bought it mainly for the extra screen real estate so I didn't have to run two monitors.
The latest model, apart from being cheaper, is supposed to have a better colour range and a faster response.
i bought the Samsung 245B Plus... nice color renditon high contrast 10000 to 1 i think . 1920 x 1200 mmmmmmm. nice and big
these days perhaps many are similar, i dont have the technical expertise, not only that in the store they are all calibrated differently. i took a USB with a Astro pic on it and had the sales rep put it up on lots of screens.
LOL i am using a generic Bauhn 81cm high definition LCD tv that i got from aldi. i might add that it is fully callibrated with my new spyder3elete calibration tool - absolutely fantastic (1920 * 1080). text would be better withthe 1200 pixels but hey i am happy with it. using hdmi connection. the dell should be ok but the samsung would be a better monitor. they are allpretty good - and you are not gaming so the millisecond response time wont be that much of a factor
Dell monitors are generally very very nice, samsungs are also very good and IIRC have very good warranty re: dead pixels etc. Even the 20" Benq I have has been a nice monitor
I have a Samsung 2243BWX ($300)that works great. I have used Dell CRT monitors for a few years (Why because I got a batch of 6 for $0). 24inch won't fit in my available space.
In any case I bet all the monitors come off the same assembly line in China.
Bloody hell Bert now you tell me, and the misses is looking over my sholder as we speak.
Probably a little expensive for me at this time Bert, so i have gone with the
Dell 24inch I described in my post, actually I ordered it, and after that opened IIS and saw your post
