New File Downloads on the Resources page

Thanks to Al Sheehan (sheeny), there's now 4 great new programs to download at the IceInSpace File Library section:

Al's ICCA
Written by Al Sheehan (IIS: sheeny) AlsICCA is a small windows application that produces a transparent, resizable window and grid to overlay over any program. The grid displays the centre lines, diagonals and 1/3 points of the frame. Overlay it over the capture window of your favourite capture software to help compose your image symmetrically or by the rule of thirds. Opacity/transparency of the grid is adjustable as well as the size and position of the frame. Note: the application does not stay on top of other windows so that it can’t obscure any capture controls. It requires the .NET framework to be installed on your PC.

Al's Reticle
Written by Al Sheehan (IIS: sheeny) AlsReticle is a small windows application that provides a reticle to overlay over any image or software window. The transparency, size and orientation of the double cross hair reticle are all adjustable, and the reticle will always stay on top of all windows. Use it to manually guide using a live view on your PC, or to estimate/measure position angles (+/-1°). It requires the .NET frame work to be installed on your PC.

Al's Astro Event Timer
Al’s Astronomical Event Timer is a small windows application written by Al Sheehan (IIS: sheeny). AlsTimer records the time the observer presses a button on the screen using the mouse. Routines are included for measuring your Personal Equations (PEs) for both Predictable and Unpredictable Events. Results of the PE measurements are saved following the measured data. Data recorded are: UTC and local time to the millisecond, and the differential time in milliseconds from the first event. PE error corrections are to be made manually afterwards. Measurements can be saved as a text file or just viewed on the screen. Note: time measurements are only as accurate as your PC’s clock, so synchronise the clock before and after measurements to validate their accuracy and estimate any synchronisation errors. It requires the .NET framework to be installed on your PC.

Al's Clock
Written by Al Sheehan (IIS: sheeny) AlsAstroClock is a small windows application which will display the time in four formats: Local, Universal (UTC), Solar and Sidereal. Approximate solar and sidereal times can be displayed using your time zone only, or enter your longitude for solar and sidereal time accurate to the second (subject to your PC clock being synchronised to standard time). Double click just inside the windows border to toggle the windows border on/off to assist with night vision. It requires the .NET framework to be installed on your PC.

You can download them from the IceInSpace File Library.

Greetings Al,

Thanks for placing these apps in the public forum.
Your reticle app will be of great help to me. I have been wondering about what way to go, tracking wise, with my 450D for deep sky photography.

Your reticle in conjunction with my DMK will be most helpful for guiding.

Thanks again.
Best Regards
Trevor
