SOLD - Complete cooled CCD imaging system

Cooled CCD imaging system

All in excellent working condition (no surprises)

Starlightxpress MX716 cooled (delta 30degC) CCD camera complete with fast USB2 SXV interface plus True Technology Supa Slim motorised filterwheel including 6 position plus dark internal wheel. Also included is the external Field Hand Unit to allow remote advancing of the wheel or via direct computer control.

The MX716 has the same size chip as the SBIG ST7 but is anti blooming and uses a much quieter SONY chip that doesn't need dark frames! It is in a different league to the Meade DSI series too. Will not give you the FOV of a DSLR but will have higher resolution becasue it is monochrome so it is great for those smaller objects like galaxies, smaller nebulae and clusters. Of course with a camera lens or short FL scope attached you can do wide field imaging though.

Package includes all necessary camera/scope adapters and cables (including Serial-USB adapters) for instant operation on your telescope as well as factory software and printed manual. All you need to add is the 1.25" filters of your choice and you have a complete and ready to go smooth imaging system. The camera and filterwheel are compatible with CCD software like Maxim and Astroart (and others)

I am also including the STAR 2000 interface for self guide capability at no extra cost

This system is also compatible with the SXV dedicated guide camera available from Starlightexpress.

The attached images were taken using this outfit and a 12" LX200GPS with Meade F3.3 focal reducer (NGC 3242 and Trifid jet close-up were taken at F10 without the FR) and a set of Astronomik filters (not included). Setup on my former scope: http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/55284140

NB. The attached images were taken when I was an inexperienced imager/processor and they are low res jpegs so the system easily produces good quality images.

My web site: www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002

Total Package price (including shipping anywhere in the World) is Au$2000 neg

This camera is still a popular imaging camera for entry/intermediate level CCD imaging but setup like this will cost you twice as much (or more) new. This is the latest model Supa Slim filterwheel and is one of the most popular motorised filter wheels on the market but you would get it at 1/2 price too :-).

Cheers

Mike Sidonio
