Wow Paul - that is an excellent image, well done. I thought that M33 was a low surface brightness galaxy, yet you have managed to bring out the structure extremely well in this image.

Cheers

Dennis

I guarded this mount like a she wolf Ken . It guided beautifully all week. Except when I had the wrong scope selected for the guidecamera that is.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I would like it though if someone has the secret to getting rid of that reddish blotchiness that sometimes comes with using the 300D.

don't see any red blotchiness in this particular image Paul...however in general I find taking more darks and getting the flats exactly right helps-if these are not right they can actually degrade the result, or at least so it seems to me

how many darks do you take?

That's a great shot, Paul. A lot of detail in the arms and the galaxy overall has a real 3 dimensional look to it.

Ummm...Ahhhh... Not enough darks (Uhmm 1) .....well no flats actually.

But the conditions were sooo good and the sky sooo clear I just couldn't take the time to take lots of darks. I just had to get the lights. You know how it is Besides, c'mon, it was 4:30 in the morning.

Bad Me.

Nice shot Ponders, it is a difficult subject from "here". Red? If anything it has a green cast to me. Good week?

Beautiful shot Paul.

Did you also have a go at M31 with the 135mm by any chance?
