Cloud Free Night

*** ANNOUNCEMENT ***

With the continued unavailability of ACCESS-C model data to Cloud Free Night, the service will cease by the end of September 2024. Other meteorological service providers (e.g. Weatherwatch MetCentre - subscription required) are available for ACCESS-C model forecasts - CFN Team (16 August 2024)

Hi Robert,
That’s disappointing as it’s been a great service for many years ( even lately without Access C data )
I suspect it’s a case of time and cost to keep it up and running like a lot of services today.

Cheers
Martin

what other options are out there for GFS and ACCESS G
(I already have a weatherzone pro subscription, but I can't see an option to show cloud forecasts)

so to follow up, what are the alternatives to cloud free night for cloud forecasting? whether that be powered by GFS, ACCESS G, ACCESS C, or whatever? free or subscription.

*** LATEST NEWS ***

Cloud Free Night has not retired, but moved to the Sunshine Coast, and continues to provide Cloud Forecasts for Australia. The Cloud Free Night website is now located at www.cloudfreenight.au with the service limited to Australia. Modified model map regions are amongst some of the changes. The Cloud Free Night website at www.cloudfreenight.com will be shutdown, with visitors redirected to the new website from 31 August 2024. Thanks again to the amazing Australian astronomy community for their support.

That's great news to hear! Thank you Robert - not just for running CFN for so long, but for keeping it alive.

Robert,
Fantastic news , I’ve been using CFN for a long time now at both sites and it’s been such an excellent weather app.
Thanks very much indeed

Martin
