Alex,
Wow that’s a first , a proposal and acceptance during a night of imaging
Congratulations are in order
Nice image too
All the best for the future !!
Martin
PS: My wife and I are heading towards 43 years of marriage ( unfortunately she has no interest in Astronomy but supports my retirement hobby )
Thanks guys - I was certainly riding a high as I packed up my gear at 1am after a day like that!
The image itself really could do with another 4 hours to strengthen the SNR, especially without the moon (which was around 47% on the night, but 75° away from the target...
I knew when she sat up till the wee hours of the morning with me, watching the constellations pass overhead, that she was the one... so I got us out to a dark spot with this target in mind, and despite a patchy, cloudy forecast. We were treated to a pristine sky (until moonrise at 10:45)..
I'm really happy with how this turned out for only 4hrs of integration, and with a 47% moon above the horizon for 2hrs of it...
Right'o Alex, more time collecting data mate, stop with the cheese boards and popping questions palava, ok? .... he he congratulations on the good news and the image!..Hmm?.. perhaps a first?..or at least very rare, ie. no hot air balloon, no fancy restaurant, no gondola on a Venetian canal or even atop a high mountain...nup! popping the question on an imaging expedition, tops the list to me! Cha ching!
I figured, if she's willing to come to the middle of nowhere with me, put up with me, and enjoys looking through the dob while the imaging rig does its thing... she's a keeper!

Most definitely, Alex!
Now, for future reference, an example:
I came into a little bit of money way back, so I took Leonie down to the sewing centre (she's a quilter) and said "pick whichever machine you like", and she settled on a $4k job.
