I purchase the Astronomy Australia book every year with my membership renewal at ASNSW. It gets posted right out and has so much information it's well worth the money. I believe it is available for purchase from other sources.
I don't think they list stargazing events though but that should be relatively easy information to find online.

In saying that I have to see if I can subscribe the the meteorological society booklet too so I know what the damn weather is going to be like.
Just west of the Blue mountains I know it's going to be overcast or miserable much of the time......Whenever there's anything important worth observing anyway.

Hi Antony, welcome to IIS

To me that's going to be any night that the weather isn't rubbish AND I haven't got other stuff interfering with my astro pursuits.

For more detailed info, I'd start here:
http://www.seasky.org/astronomy/astr...ndar-2024.html
It's Northern-Hemisphere biased but a lot of those events can be seen from here too.

Then consider downloading a planetarium app like Stellarium.

Keep an eye on https://theskylive.com/ as well, particularly for interesting comets.

Hi Antony, and welcome to IIS

For me, the celestial event I'm looking forward to most in the coming year is the comet Tsuchinshan which is predicted to be quite spectacular around Oct 2024.

Let hope it lives up the the hype!
