Ic 2944

IC 2944 The Running Chicken nebula also known as The Lambda Centauri nebula
Just under 7 and three quarter hours over two nights
37 x 120 sec @ -10 taken on July 23rd 2021
135 x 120 sec @ -5 taken on March 8th 2022
24 x 300 sec @ -5 taken on March 8th 2022
all unguided subs

I included a slightly cropped starless version as i love the look of them

SW ED80
SW AZEQ6 pro mount
ZWO 533 mc pro camera gain 101
Optolong L-extreme filter
ZWO asi air v1
Bortle 7 Perth Western Australia
Edited in DSS and PS

Tony,
Beautiful OSC narrowband rendition of the chook
Plenty of good data and excellent processing
Colour contrasts are spot on
Maybe a tad more sharpening or Decon but that only my opinion
I’m not a fan of Starless images so won’t comment on that one
It’s difficult to produce good narrowband contrasted or Bi colour images with a OSC due to the weaker signals, it takes a lot a data to get anywhere near Mono , but you’ve certainly nailed this one

2 excellent unguided captures Tony. I personally like the starless version. Especially on IC2944 .

Nice shot but you should be able to bring out a bit more contrast and detail in the nebulosity since your doing a starless step. Not a fan of displaying starless though.
