Camping Under The Stars

Camping Under The Stars

Took this one September last year on a camping trip out bush
while its not perfect, it tells the story I wanted it to.
“Camping under the stars”
it’s a panorama of 6 images taken with my Nikon D850 and Nikon 14-24 f2.8 lens @ 24mm
as I was on my own at the time and I wanted to be in the Frame (yes that’s me next to camp fire) I set the camera on 10 sec timer, then ran back to my seat and sat perfectly still for 20 secs hahahaha
no pixel peeping please shutter was at 20 seconds on fixed tripod so there are star trails
and it was pretty hard to get a correct exposure with the campfire in foreground
Just thought it was a great image to share
hope you like it
regards
mick

Well worth sharing Mick, you've done a great job on that one. Nice to capture the memories of camping out under the stars in such ideal conditions.

Absolutely stunning. Would love to see a bigger version, star trails or none. This is a really nice nightscape.

Thanks for the kind comments guys

I get away to the WA goldfields 3 or 4 times a year, gold prospecting has been a hobby of mine for over 12 years and the stars never cease to amaze me in these dark locations.
the really awesome thing is, I now get to combine 2 hobbies while out there

regards mick

Very nice, Mick! Have you tried The Pinnacles dessert at Nambung National Park?
I'm thinking of doing this https://www.australiascoralcoast.com...-way-pinnacles

I suggest ( based on experience) that a group of similarly interested (and trust worthy) folks is always a better, and safer option.
