That's the ticket Ryan. Get her " sucked in" early on and she will be wanting upgrades and more astro gear in no time Cheers Richard.

Please pass on my congratulations to her for a great photo.

It will be nice if she becomes interested.

But she must be real happy with her effort ... not everyone can produce such a good result so early.
Ask her if she can do some more as she may be able to inspire other ladies.
They should be able to do better because of their awarness of colour and sence of balance and proportion.
I would love to see more ladies taking photos of the night sky.

Alex

Thank you for your kind words Alex ☺️

I am happy (and surprised) with what I was able to capture. Although Ryan was kind enough to put his processing aside to help me with mine ☺️

I will say that standing under a blanket of stars produces an indescribable feeling, and I understand why Ryan and members on this site take so much pleasure in AP.

I will certainly be heading out with Ryan again

Thank you again
Nichole

Hi Nichole
What I suggest is not easy and I have only been able to do it a few times.

Stand under the stars and imagine you are standing on a globe ...feeling nearly upside down☺ ..and imagine where the Sun will rise and the Moon being up helps...but if it works you dont feel like you are standing on a flat surface but on a large ball and in that moment you feel you are in space...the most extordinary feeling.

I hope to see you get really good at all this☺

I have just set up to do a wide field ...maybe Orion...while I sort thru everything but it is a perfect night here (Tabby not Sydney)

Thanks for your post it was really nice.

Thanks Carlton

Do what Ryan did to me, hand her a camera and give her a go. Since then I’ve bought a camera, 3 lenses and a polarising filter. Had a taste of AP last night as you know and I may be a little hooked

This is another one I took last night of the LMC but I didn't think it was as good. Ryan convinced me to put it up.

I'm not sure I'm quite at the Valentine's Day level yet but it turns out the secret trail is not required anyway. Nichole willingly buys my contraband for me anyway. She's a keeper

What a team! That's two satisfied for the price of one - not twice as expensive

I'm just happy to have brought another member into the Hotel California.

My only fear is that with her first efforts being as good as they are, she may over take me very quickly lol.

You should not fear such.

Personally I am most happy to be the one to have contributed in some small way to the sucess of others.

Particularly to help women is a wonderful thing.

They are the species and deserve much much more than our culture gives them...they receive less respect than they deserve.

They seem to be pushed to the rear and their greatest role is often to be no more than an accessory for an egotistcal male...they really deserve a better deal.

When they talk I listen.

I wasn't serious about the fear. In fact much the same as you, I'm actually happy if I can help anyone succeed regardless of gender.

I really did not think you were.
I just like to keep putting it out there in the hope some folk stop and think.
I did not do too good last night just going for wide field...because it really is harder to focus...no mask.
Should make one.

I helped Nichole with focus using her live view. It’s a lot harder with my old 350d that doesn’t have it. Especially seeing as I’m used to relying on a bahtinov mask too.
