My instinct is to stay away from a companies first product, even if it is with Andy Rubin, but I like where they're going.
The seperate mono sensor is cool though and has been done on a couple of phones already - namely the Huawei P9 and P10 phones with their Leica collaboration. From what I've read those phones give excellent mono images
