Never used k3ccd, but in Autostar LPI you can switch between mono and
colour. I assumme you should be able to do the same thing with k3ccd, but
as I said I have never used it. However when I have shot stars or clusters
it's in colour mode and usually lots of 2-4 sec exposures only due to the
limitations of my mount.

hope this helps, I'm sure someone should be able to enlighten you.

regards,CS

Rob

Sorry, ving. I've never used K3CCD Tools, only Envisage, so I'm no help.

Het Ving, what sort of colours are you getting now? I used (long ago) the LPI with K3CCD tools, but only ever once or twice attempted long exposure with it. I wonder how much colour the CMOS chip can pickup? Anyway, have you tried the yahoo LPI user group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/meadelpi/

If anyone can help they should be able to.

cheers,

Hi Ving

The few doubles I managed to image with the LPI were all captured with the native Meade software, AutostarSuite.

Here are the settings used for Rigil Kentaurus & Acrux:
Gain 100, Offset 45, Exp 0.25 secs, Track, Combine, Quality=50, Kernel=Medium, Log=unchecked. Approx 20 frames combined.

Here are the settings used for Antares:
Gain 100, Offset 45, Exp 0.5 secs, Track, Combine, Quality=50, Kernel=Medium, Log=unchecked. Approx 20 frames combined.

Here are the settings used for the Trapezium:
Gain 100, Offset 45, Exp 2.8 secs, Track, Combine, Quality=50, Kernel=Medium, Log=checked 0 to 82. 12 frames combined. Dark Frames used.

Equipment Used:
Vixen ED102mm f9 refractor, TeleVue x5 PowerMate and/or Vixen x2 Barlow, Meade LPI CMOS digital camera.

I’m not sure how these translate to the K3CCDTools settings?

Cheers

Dennis
