Takahashi FC-100DL

It seems due popular demand, Tak are back with another run of DL's. As much as I would enjoy adding another Tak to the lineup, I have to remain somewhat sensible about these things. Now, if they ever did another run of TSA-102's that might be a different story.

You know that's exactly what I posted once. I would dearly like to see Tak come out with a 160.

Why wait?

In terms of optics, Agema seems to be crafting truly fine doublets: http://www.agemaoptics.com/blog/

I totally agree! Nothing good comes out of Poland, maybe except for CFF telescopes

But more seriously, Agema Optics is a company based in the USA. They seem to be focused on fluorite doublets. Here is what their main optician, Edward, writes about himself:

I guess you know me very well. Agema Optics is my third company.
The first one was Technical Optics in Ukraine, 1993-1998 - I produced optics for local customers and also for Jim Burr, Tom Dobbins and Yuri Petrunin.
The second - TEC, 1998-2011 - I designed all models, set up optical production and produced optics for 13 years.
The third - Agema Optics - I am planning to make more great telescopes. I have MD in optics and over 30 years experience in optical manufacturing. Optics is my life!

For the retail price of an FC100DL, you're 2/3rds of the way to a second hand FS128!
Last one I saw was on Astro-Foren for about $5k Australian - predictably just after I bought my FS 102.
Although it pains me to admit it, those Polish blokes seem to make not half-bad 'scopes. As soon as our "Pacific Peso" rises a bit, I may order one. Just to see.

I had an FS152 F8
It was one of the best scopes ever for visual but not so good for imaging as it really was only semi APO.
Roland Christen says an APO doublet is possible.
I presume that's why this Agema is F8. It makes it a bit easier.

No point me getting it early as I won't be allowed to open it until 26 June anyway

I am trying to convince K-Astec to make some rings to suit, but rather than the common 12mm thick ones, I would like a set like they make for the FSQ.....
Awaiting their reply.... Otherwise I will be on the lathe again
