BEWARE of another overseas email Con Job

I recieved this by email today. It's another muti-million dollar con job via email.

If you get an email marked: URGENT RESPONSE FROM:BARRISTER.MARK MAXWELL don't bother opening it.

I am supposed to have the exact same name as the beneficiary, but the email doesn't even mention my name, I am just 'My Good Friend' and he can't even do basic Maths!

Here is the email (bad spelling for a Barristers office, just like the other con jobs & can't add!)

-------------------------------------------------------------------
You can now email me at: mark_maxwell777@yahoo.com

FROM:BARRISTER.MARK MAXWELL

M.M CHAMBERS/SOLICITOR AT LAW,

4 Albert Embankments, London

SE1 7SR, UK

Attn: My Good Friend,

I am Barrister Mark Maxwell. I have a client who bears the same name with you and a foreigner/national of your country who used to work with Mekon Associates Company here in London.

On the 2nd of August 2003, my client, his wife and their three children were involved in a car accident along Manchester Express Road. All occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost their lies. Since then I have made several enquiries to your embassy to locate any of my client's extended relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful. After these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his relatives over the internet,to locate any member of his family but of no avail. I have contacted you to assist me in repatriating the money left behind by my client before they got confiscated or declared unserviceable by the Finance House where these huge deposits were lodged.

Particularly, the Finance House where the deceased had an account valued at about US$20M has issued me a notice to provide the next-of-kin or have the account confiscated within the next ten official working days. Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over nine (9) months now, I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased so that the proceeds of this account valued at US$20M can be paid to you and then you and I can share the money; 45% to me and 45% to you while the 1% will mapped out for any expenses that will occured in this transaction. I have all necessary legal documents that can be used to back up any claim we may make.

All I require is your honest co-operation to enable us see this transaction through. I guarantee that this will beexecuted under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of law.

Please get in touch with me immediately you acknowledge the good receipt of this message. Anticipating your prompt response.

Sincerely,

Barrister Mark Maxwell (Esq)

Solicitor At Law

Ya hafta laugh at them, they never give up. At work, we get at least 4 or 5 a day, supposedly from the bank asking us to verify our details. Sad thing is that some people actually get caught by these scammers.

Hotmail account setup, Ken The watchdog@ hot mail. com

look out he is coming for you Mr Maxwell (maybe they made the name up watching reruns of Get Smart???)

I think the demand for that amount of compensation is great but be prepared to pay the real crooks, the AUS government on payment
