RIP B.B. King

The blues legend has passed on. At 89, and given his choice of career, he must've seen a thing or two!
I saw him in the mid 80's. A good showman and a surprisingly meaty guitar sound.

RIP B.B. King

Rip b.b.

Damn right Chris - unforgettable entertainer who influenced a lot of great guitarists. The music will never die tho'. Wonder what'll happen to Lucille. Another great to pass (last week) was Johnny Gimble, probably the best fiddle player going who played with and influenced a lot of very successful bands and players. If he couldn't get your foot tappin' you'd need to check your pulse. RIP B.B. & Johnny.

....sad news, one the classic Blues guitar players.
Saw him tour with U2 several decades ago and once touring on his own.

I love the blues and only just heard the news when reading this thread

King of The Blues - RIP

Very Sad.
His influence played in my Gibson purchase years ago and I never let it go like many other guitars..my favorites.

Not an actual lucille.
I did not want his guitar just the same model.
I remember the purchase well.
I saw it and bought it..it was only when I took it home it seemed like a bad idea.
She was not happy.

I am more of an acoustic guitar person, although I do have a couple of electric guitars. My favourite is a Telecaster

The semi hollowed out Gibsons have a great sound, especially for Jazzy playing.

Clapton made a short video on YouTube concerning BB Kings death the other day.

I now play a 3 string cigar box slide guitar.
Simple yet challenging.
Thru my amp peels paint off the wall.
