Way too cute Al. Still, if we got surfs that big in Tassie I'd probably consider taking it up :-)

Thanks Trevor,

We got up to some mischief while on holidays...

The gnome is from my sister-in-law's friend's garden. They're away on a cruise, so we were taking photos of the things her gnomes got up to while she was away. Its going to be a hell of a scrapbook apparently... he's been surfing - as you see - fishing, swimming, rockclimbing, abseiling, had breakfast at Enzo's on the beach, played and umpired tennis, been to the movies, the RSL club for lunch, played the pokies, been to the pub, and the airport, and he's had the rest of the gnomes doing precision marching drills in the front lawn, and led them on an exploratory expedition through the gully beside their house. No doubt he's still doing stuff since we left...

Al.

Any off them would have done, they are excellent.
What gear did you use for these?

For some of us it is a little difficult as we only have the standard camera.
Though I guess small is relative.
As in a small aircraft carrier or a small volcano.
Are these elligible?

With macros, the most important thing is to get the light under control. I use an off camera flash and diffuser and get the light soft, but close to the subject. This evens out the light. The other (less important) gear details are a 5D MkIII for the submitted entry and the first four shots above, while the last four above are with the 1Dx. All were with the 65mm MPe lens. Generally f11 to f14, 1/200 or 1/250 shutter and iso400.
