Not showing the Russian F1 GP live

For the first time for literally years channel 10 is not showing a F1 grand Prix Live. Why
I am ropeble
Showing it at 11:30 Queensland time.
I bet it is because of this "expletive deleted"
Daylight saving time.

Seems it is in fact because I am on Satellite and the clowns who run the tv channels cannot run things for the difference in daylight saving so everything in Queensland is not shown live but always delayed.
My set top box which is the controller is even set to AEDT and all programs are in AEDT. even for Western Australia, set for bloody AEDT.

It was unusual that they screened it on ONE in HD. They usually put the race on TEN in standard definition.

Was a boring race anyway, you didn't miss anything. Shame really because that's a track where passing was possible.

As stated in my other post, I am on Satellite, but negleted to say NBN Satellite, which is free to air.
No I don't pay for it like Foxtel.
The programers thought a new movie on one and a Csi New York on 10 over rode the GP for us Queenslanders.

Icould have watched it at 23:30, but I hate watching something I know the result of and also following it on the internet showed what a fairly boring race it must have been.

Hi Ron,

That's not good to hear!

Hi Chris,

A bonus in your case! In Sydney it aired live on TEN whilst they showed the
movie "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" on ONE.

When James Packer and Lachlan Murdoch bought into the TEN network
in 2011, many commentators said part of their rationale was to sideline
ONE as a sports channel, which is precisely what happened.

Foxtel's sports-only channels are a major drawcard for a large number of
their subscribers so when Freeview provided a sports-only channel by
way of the TEN network's ONE HD it would have been seen as competition.

Foxtel in Australia was 50% owned by the Packers and 50% owned
by the Murdochs.

For a while Lachlan was appointed acting CEO of the TEN network and
chairman of the board.

The raid was successful and despite organizations such as the ACCC
and ACMA, they got away with it, the legacy being ONE HD ceased to
be a sports-only channel and F1 followers only get to see the race live
in HD on rare occasions.

In an ideal world, F1 would always be broadcast live on ONE and the
scheduling mix-up Ron experienced on his satellite service would not
have happened.

But then again money never sleeps.

Hi Gary, this doesn't surprise me at all! These big businesses have a habit of getting their own way. Thanks for the info.

No help to Ron, but I had no idea such a free satellite service existed. You learn something every time you read this forum!
