Malin awards theme anounced for 2015

Just got home from shutting down the Northern Photographic Federation conference where John Sarkission was our keynote speaker for the day.He gave two talks, one on the hunt for the original Apollo tapes and the other on the history of the malins. Both outstanding presentations, if you ever get a chance to hear the Apollo talk its a cracker and worth travelling for , the other was almost as good, he was very well received by a group of non astronomy photographers with a small group from Newcastle astronomical society also present. He announced a slight change in the format to the malin awards, gone are the two wide field and high res solar system, they are combined into one category called solar system and the introduction of a new category called "nightscape". Also he announced next years theme its called "The Southern Cross" see the attached definition. John has said that a general email will go out in the next few days and the official web site will be set up soon.........so start planning people ......

regards brad

Thanks for that Brad - a real coup for you to get this information first .

Got an email from John Sarkissian confirming it all yesterday.
More time to plan next years entries (I need all the help I can get)
