An eagle in Collingwood colours...

I suspect the title may be a little cryptic....

Anyway, hot off the press....

The eagle (has landed) here

P.S.
AP make such sweet optics

Dear Peter,
top image.
You're making everyone want a Astro-Physics RHA 305mm F3.8 Honders Astrograph.

cheers
Allan

Like eagles, RHA's are a rare bird. I'm not sure if AP will be making any more.

Wonderful image. The smaller pixels of the 8300 are a good match for those fast sharp optics.

Greg.

You've gotta be happy with that. Such fine detail in the clouds and pinpoint stars!

Very impressive Peter, that resolution is looking nice and sharp You've captured some good detail in the dark globules too, providing a nice sense of depth.
I'm sure the final colour image will be awesome.

Thanks Paul...that makes two of us anticipating a result.

I've come to the conclusion M16 is a hard target to really do well....particularly given Hubble's version burnt into the public psyche..

I'm guessing at least 6 hours of OIII and 8 of SII ....with good seeing or it will be ho-humm.

That's the sort of telescope I'd like but work commitments
& bad weather are making it not worthwhile.
We seem to have had 4 months of clouds in Melbourne.

cheers

Yep that would be about right. I did this last year but never posted the results. I had to stretch the subs too much because I was not exposing for long enough with the TSA.. With that monster though you ought to get it done pretty quick. The Hubble palette on this looks pretty good and there is even a nice red blue version getting around too, Rob Gendler has one like it and I modelled my image at the time on that. In any event it will have lots of signal for you to work with.

Incredible details usually seen on much larger apertures. Straight to the cool wall.
