The ultimate selfie – Driving through the Star Field!

The ultimate selfie – Driving through the Star Field!

I had a lot of fun up on the ridge taking photos of the Milky Way, and a lot of them featured my car. I decided it would be better if I was part of the shot - driving through the star field

I love the reflections of the stars on the car. I experimented with different lighting to light myself up in the car, and had to stay still for 20 seconds!

Canon 6D, 14-24mm lens @ 24mm, 20s exposure, ISO6400.

Look good. A big grin would've gone well.

When cameras get fast enough, I want to see one with stars under the tyres!

Very cool shot Mike Love the reflections.

I dunno? I think you held the right pose. Holding a smile for 20 seconds is pretty hard to do without cracking up or feeling silly

Oh, and I think you may have run over M8.

That's all good... but it wouldn't be a selfie then.

Night driving.

Now, I know astronomers have good night vision but..... maybe headlights would be a good idea whilst driving at night

Thanks for the comments Mike I agree a smile would've been good - I was too busy thinking about how much to light up the inside of the car (and my face) and trying to stay still

haha yeh someone else suggested that too. Would've been good but would've been too bright for the single exposure.

Nice Work, Mike.

And a great car, is it my eyes/colour cast or is your the dark blue as well. I picked up mine earlier this year. It has even survived a Roo (although I saw the silly thing early enough and probably only hit it at 20km/h) Only a small scratch and tuff of fur in the grill apart from that the car was perfectly fine.
