Coronado Eyepieces. Worth it?

I have no plans in buying any of the Coronado eyepieces designed for the solar scopes but I wanted to ask if anyone has any and if there are any major difference between these and standard eyepieces?

Stefan,
I have a full set of the Cemax eyepieces/ barlow....
They are OK.
But I prefer my ol' TV Plossl's or the Pentax Zoom.

My SMII60 came with a 25mm Cemax. It is basically an ordinary plossl but I believe it has coatings to enhance the transmission of Ha light and minimise ghosting and flaring around the image. That said I get much better views with my 10mm Ethos, but that is a fairly pricey EP! And I still get significant flaring with the 25.

Stefan the set of 12.5mm 18mm and 25mm + 2x Barlow these were called ' CeMax ' ( as said ) these came with my Coradado Solarmax Ha scope and they did show more subtile details on the sun than my Orthoscopics , TV Radians and the few plossls I had , as said these are geared towards Ha light and in my eyes they worked .

You don't need 68* plus to view the sun 45-50* is fine .

Brian.

Are they worth 3X the price of an ordinary Plossl? Probably not. These are simply GSO Plossls in a fancy housing--lab tests showed no difference in transmission between them and GSO Plossls at 686nm.
Mind you, GSO Plossls are pretty good.
