Let's see them do a formation takeoff Thinking wake turbulence may be an issue in that situation though

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the links!

When you see photos such as the one in the link you provided, it makes one
ponder the enormity of the total military aircraft production of the United States
over the past century.

I was reminded of this only last Sunday when re-watching an episode of
the late Kenneth Galbraith's 1977 television documentary series,
"The Age of Uncertainty".

In episode 8, we are taken to the aircraft graveyard in Arizona.
See the 39:35 point in this video -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7WCOepX2bo

In particular, the long tracking shot of all the mothballed helicopters from the
Vietnam War (what the Vietnamese refer to as "the American War) starting at
41:20 is staggering to contemplate.

Hi Gary, I visited the Aircraft grave yard near Tuscon Arazona in 1990, and have seen lots of TV programs with it in them and it never ceases to amaze me at the amount of aircraft parked up there.
With the loss and merger of quite a few major air Airlines, the stockpile of aircraft just gets bigger.
Cheers

Yeah Flash, I was nearly going to go to Tuscon, for that reason, but in the end, I had the private tour organised at Lowell, so gave it a miss. I can see it next time, when I go back to the States, which may be sooner than later, And, you know why

Cheers Pete
