Is this for real????

Hi guys and girls,
I saw a documentary a couple of days ago that featured a discussion of masuru emoto's experiments whereby he appeared to change the molecular structure of water by using negative/positive thought. Is this rubbish? does anyone else know of this experiment? A bit disturbing if this is legit

Changed the molecular structure of water? To what?? How was this detected? If the molecular structure changes then it's no longer water. IMHO more bollocks than a horse stud.

That bs "documentary" is titled What the Bleep Do We Know, from memory.

It is full of all sorts of ridiculous quackery.

My understanding is that two SUCCESSFUL tests were carried out...

  1. In test one, they changed water to dihydrogen monoxide
  2. In test two, they changed water to hydrogen hydroxide
In both cases, the tests were successful and proved that water can be changed to water...

The dangers of dihydrogen monoxide (aka hydrogen hydroxide) have been well documented.

Amazing. Next they'll change it to hydroxide acid without changing the pKa!

For future reference.... anything to do with 'the power of thought' and the physical sciences - you can fairly safely assume it is pure rubbish....

I mentioned Dihydrogen way back http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...archid=2749162 but I don't think anyone realised how seriously dangerous it can be

I don't understand Chemistry at all, but maybe if I concentrate hard enough I could change a Gerry can of water into some stuff that could power my work van and get cheap fuel....

Then again, the Sun, and many like it, can turn hydrogen into helium, and then helium into a few hundred other things.

BUT, I think the fusion engine of a star is a LITTLE more powerful than a homosapien's mind.
