Milky Way from Sydney

Hi All,

We had a power outage tonight in Sydney, so with all the lights out (including the street lights) I thought it would be good time for some astrophotography.

Anyway, by the time I had setup the camera and taken 2 shots the lights came back on..... Doh...

I still managed to get some nice shots of the Milky Way which was clearly visible with the naked eye. I also captured two frames which had planes flying through - a nice effect to see planes flying across the Milky Way.

Camera: Canon 550d
Exposures: 15 @ 15 seconds
Mount: Basic camera tripod

Cheers,
Mark

Wow, Nice shot. Good idea to take advantage of a power cut
