H-Alpha solar imaging with an unmodified DSLR?

Hi everyone,

Stupid question #352...

An unmodified DSLR (i.e. filtering out a whole lot of red) attached to a H-alpha filtered instrument (say a Coronado)... effectively shooting oneself in one's foot?

Cheers,
Chris

Although the unmodded DSLR has a low response to Ha, you'll still get results.
If you're thinking about the Coronado PST, the issue may be how to achieve focus.

If you screw a 2 x barlow to the end of the adapter you should be able to get focus with a PST on a DSLR

check the yahoo PST group, I seem to recall there were some pictures showing how to do this

I used to do this with a Canon 300D, but can't now my PST has been modded by Demkmeir
